Born in a village of snow.
Raised by the mountain.
Born and raised in Niseko, Hokkaido. He grew up skiing freely on his home mountain, went on to represent Japan in Slopestyle and Big Air World Cups, became Japan's freeride champion, and was the first Japanese skier to appear in a Matchstick Productions film ─ the pinnacle of ski cinema.
In 2024 he released the first-ever Japanese signature goggle from SMITH and joined blackcrows. As the leader of the freeride collective Bonz, based in Niseko, he continues to pursue skiing as expression, beyond competition.
